Waimea Community Dam
The Waimea Community Dam, in the Tasman District, will be an approximately 53m high concrete-face rock fill dam and will contain about 13.4 million cubic metres of water to provide irrigation and water supply for the intensive horticulture industry and community of the Waimea Plains. Working with the Fulton Hogan Taylors Contracting Co Ltd Joint Venture, SouthernSkies has been the erosion and sediment control lead, through the Early Contractor Involvement phase, and now through construction. We also prepared the AEE and obtained consent for two new access bridges across the Lee River that will provide safe all-weather access to the site and reduce the frequency of machinery entering the river.
